look at the model and find the missing number
If a pie chart is divided into 8 equal sections and 3/8 of the sections are shaded, it means that 3 out of the 8 sections are shaded. To find the fraction of the whole that is shaded, we divide the number of shaded sections by the total number of sections.
If a segment representing 1/3 is divided into 5 equal parts, we can use the bar model to determine the fraction of the whole segment that each part represents.

First, multiply the numerator and then multiply the denominator.
