(Change in price / original price.) 100
The cost price of each smartphone is $75,000/500 = $150.
Take away a discount amount from original price
Let’s say the original price of the laptop is x. If it’s sold at a discount of 20%, then the new price would be x - 0.2x = 0.8x.
Let’s say the cost price of the dress is x. If the boutique wants to make a profit of 25% on the cost price, then the selling price of the dress should be x + 0.25x = 1.25x.
Orignal price - Discount
Discount percent is 100 times of changed price/original price.
The difference between marked prices and discounts is the selling price.
The discount on the dress would be 0.25 * $120
