Common-Core Grade 8 - 8 Find the area of triangles and quadrilaterals
|
The area of a right-angled triangle is given by the formula: Area = (base × height) / 2.
We first convert 8m into cm using 1m = 100cm then use the formula for the area of a parallelogram base x height. base = 8cm and height = 800cm
To find the area of a kite, we can use the formula:
Area = (d1 * d2) / 2
To find the area of a parallelogram, we multiply the length of the base by the height.
Area of unshaded = toatal area - the area of shaded Area of rectangle = length x breadth, find the area of the larger rectangle then take away the area of the smaller rectangle from it.
Recall the formula of area of parallelogram
First, we find the area of the larger triangle and then the area of the smaller triangle and then we take away the area of the smaller triangle from the larger triangle to get the area of the shaded region. Use area = \\( {1 \\over 2}\\) x base x height.
recall the formula of area of trapezium
We can see that the figure is a triangle and we know that the area of the triangle will be \\( {1 \\over 2}\\) x base x height.
We first change 600cm into m using 100cm = 1m and then we calculate the area using the formula \\(Area = {1 \\over 2}\\) x base x height.
