A translation slides a figure to a different location.
A rotation turns a figure around a fixed point.
On anticlockwise rotation, we move to the next quadrant.
Midpoint formula:
A reflection flips a figure over a line to create a mirror image. When a point is reflected over the x-axis, the y-coordinate changes sign.
On reflection through X-axis, the y-coordinate changes and vice versa.
A reflection flips a figure over a line to create a mirror image. When a point is reflected over the y-axis, the x-coordinate changes sign.
Reflection through the y-axis changes the sign of the x-coordinate.
When rotating a point 90 degrees counterclockwise about the origin our point A(x,y) becomes A'(-y,x).
For rotation of 180 degrees, the coordinates become (-x,-y).
