How To Develop Their Interest In Studies?
Making students love studies sounds really difficult, but it is not impossible. Asking your student repeatedly to study becomes burdensome, but it is parents’ and teachers’ responsibility to develop their love for studies.
Make a daily routine
After discussing it with your child, make a study plan. Set time for every goal. This will keep your student motivated when he/she will finish his or her studies on time. Follow a strict routine and discuss with the child so that he/she is comfortable and prepares himself/herself to study at that specific time. Always be involved
Always keep yourself available for your student when he/she is studying. Don’t leave your child alone while studying. Sit with your child during studies and help him. Also, identify the field of interest of your student and start with the subjects. Show your child that you are always with him or her.
The study place should be cleaned and organized
Keep the study place in order and away from all the distractions and noises. It should be noiseless, comfortable, and well-lighted. Do it with the help of the student so that he or she finds it more interesting. The student will not like to study in a messy room. Read: 15 Tips and Tricks for Exam Preparation
Keep all the distractions away
Switch your computer, mobile phone, or TV off when the child is studying. Children are easily distracted, so make sure no family member talks or chats while the child is studying. Keep the doors closed while the child is studying.
Acknowledge and reward
Catch your child being good at studies. Acknowledge his or her hard work. When your child finishes studying, praise his/her efforts. Reward with small gifts like chocolates or allow your child to watch his or her favorite TV show as he or she finishes studying. This can always encourage your child to study and help in developing a sense of achievement in him or her. You should not discourage your child even if he/she brings lower grades, instead encourage him so that he learns from his mistakes, and with the support of parents and teachers he can rise even better. Take Breaks
To make your child feel comfortable, make sure your child takes a break and has some fun in between studies. This could be a bit stress-less for the child. Taking purposeful breaks in between studies to refresh your brain increases productivity and the ability to focus. Instead of using a mobile phone find activities that allow you to move your body or laugh that will actually help in re-energizing and re-focus.
