With the onset of the Pandemic, the world has seen a paradigm shift in terms of Education. We as individuals became too complacent to a particular structure of education. Whether it was about imparting knowledge or gaining, everyone followed a routine that needed to be substituted with a more flexible one. Hence, change was required and changes were made accordingly. When the country was hit with the pandemic and the unprecedented lockdown was announced, people were unaware of the fact that the education system would require a revision in terms of its structure as well as function.
Most of the schools as well as colleges were not able to figure out an immediate solution to the halt that had taken place due to the Pandemic. As a result, we saw a complete shutdown of not only schools but also classes. Teachers were not technologically aware of most of the features of applications that would help them to teach.

Being inept to Applications such as Zoom and Google Meet made it quite a difficult task for the teachers to continue with their classes. It was not only the teachers but also the students who were not familiar with such applications. The requirements of these applications were inaccessible to primary and secondary students. They could only access the internet through their parents’ smartphones or laptops under their supervision. This made the job of teaching arduous.
It was a setback for the Education sector as well as a challenge to cope up with the situation. Thus measures were taken to kick start the classes so that the students could be provided with uninterrupted service of knowledge.
Along with the school, colleges, and universities, The government took comprehensive initiatives such as the National Repository of Open Educational Resources, (NROER), Digital Infrastructure of Knowledge Sharing (DIKSHA), e- Pathshala and a National Online Education Platform called SWAYAM.
These initiatives were taken to combat the changing scenario of education in India. With nearly all the schools shut the government tried to reach every student irrespective of the economic barriers to impart education.

Into the second year of Pandemic and things have changed drastically. We have quickly adapted ourselves to this flexible system. Online Education has opened EdTech Companies provide a wholesome experience by providing different features that the schools are not able to. Classes, Projects, and even evaluations are now being taken through various applications. There has been a high demand for online Teaching. Teachers are able to interact with students all over the country.
Students are getting the best education, staying safe at home and being supervised by their parents. A lot of new ways are being discovered to make virtual classrooms effective as well as lively. This in turn has given the government an opportunity to provide internet connections to different parts of India and if possible even to the remotest. The government has been playing a crucial role in encouraging digital learning in order to avoid another wave of Covid- 19.

The virus is here to stay, and we do not see an immediate respite from it any time sooner. Therefore in such conditions, Digital Learning can be considered as the best way of studying. Students have adapted quite well and so have the teachers.
The only positive thing about the pandemic is that it brought major changes to the complacent Education system and enhanced the overall view of a child. A child can now use all his senses to learn any subject, through online classes. We can hope for the best, but should always find ways to thrive for the better.
